ABOUT
Hello! I'm Harrison Huss. I'm a multimedia designer focusing on graphic design and motion graphics.
Additionally, I've worked in production, specifically in casting, which gave me an adeptness for problem solving and pivoting when a hurdle arises.
I have experience designing style guides, promotional posters for TV and Film, and in-app product design for live events.
I have from the ground-up knowledge in planning, configuring, and designing board game prototypes. These designs include game mechanics, board layouts, rulebooks, and detailed thematic illustration.
My other skills include video editing, public speaking, and photography.
What drives my passion for creation is storytelling. I've always been drawn to movies, video games, books, art, and music because of their ability to tell a story. The exact moment I knew I wanted to tell stories was as a small child watching the 1973 film The Golden Voyage of Sinbad. Specifically, it was the scene when the titular Sinbad and his crew must sword fight against a six-armed statue that inspired me. My young self was dazzled and captivated by that moment.
From that point on I wanted to create moments, scenes, art, and stories that gave people that same reaction. Storytelling heavily influences my creative process: what story am I conveying to my audience with my work? What emotions, memories, feelings, or ideas do I wish to invoke in the viewer?
Beyond everything though, to me, storytelling is community. We tell stories to be in community with those around us. Through storytelling, we can shape our communities into better places by displaying our values, ethics, world views, and hopes with others. We share our souls, our dreams, with the goal that someone somewhere might be inspired by our creations.
